These are classic oldies and perennial favorites amongst grandmothers.  Many are not in print anymore, and those that are tend to lose something in the modern printing translation.  The old ones have superior paper quality and color resolution, and feel like the authentic memory because they are.
 

Abraham Lincoln by Ingri & Edgar d'Aulaire A Caldecott  classic.  It's never out of style to mix a little history with your reading, especially when it humanizes the legendary.	A Child's Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson Illustrated by Alice & Martin Provensen The Provensens teamed together to create several classics in children's literature, but their style is recognizable even illustrating others' works.
Flicka, Ricka, Dicka by  Maj Lindmann  It's almost impossible to find decent old copies of the Lindman series, but they're back in print in paperback.  I can send 2 new paperbacks with one selection from the boys' series and one from the girls: Snipp, Snapp and Snurr and Flicka, Ricka and Dicka.	Jump! The Adventure of Brer Rabbit by Joel Chandler Harris illustrated by Barry Moser Brer Rabbit is back!  Moser's illustrations capture the spunk and rebelliousness here, and Brer's indefatiable spirit.
Paddle-to-the-Sea by Holling C. Holling A charming classic, as are others by Holling.  The  illustrations take me back to my own childhood.  Ah, the days when...	The Country Noisy Book  by Margaret Wise Brown illustrated by Leonard Weisgard This famous duo created a series of Noisy Books in the 30's and 40's, including the Indoor Noisy Book, Outdoor Noisy Book, Summer Noisy Book, etc.  They're every bit as good today as they were 60 years ago.
First Prayers  by Tasha Tudor  First editions by Tasha Tudor are highly sought after, but I occassionaly have lesser copies appropriate for little hands to read.  This one is even sized for little hands.	The Big Brown Bear  by Gustaf Tenggren From the creator of The Poky Little Puppy comes this old gem about a Bear seeking something sweet...  They just don't print color illustrations like they used to...
The Little Auto  by Lois Lenski  The perennial favorite Lenski knows how to cheer on her readers.  The Little and Small series are designed for young children, and although I don't always have these in stock,  sometimes I get a whole run of them!	Raggedy Ann Stories  by Johnny Gruelle Raggedy Ann is almost cliche now, which means it's time to go back to the originals and see why they became so popular.  Answer: the illustrations are gorgeous, humorous, and the stories are rollicking adventures with a kinder and gentle sense of morality.
